3P (People, Planet, Profit) Urban Revitalization

Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati

 

Responding to a collective realization that successful urban revitalization requires an investment in social, environmental and economic infrastructure, I will discern a social prognosis for OTR, potential steps for sustainable community empowerment, and feasible urban infill models for generating culturally relevant, economically viable, and environmentally conscious design. 

Distilled: I'm exploring a Triple Bottom Line approach toward urban revitalization for Over-the-Rhine. 

Not so distilled: This exploration will delve into the more subtle social nuances of this particular community and how to respond appropriately and constructively to the specific parameters.

For the next year, I will research, analyze and design a relevant contribution to the existing revitalization efforts in the neighborhood.  The project will conclude next November with a comprehensive presentation to department faculty, students, and interested stakeholders.
